The Muslim fashion movement in Indonesia shows significant dynamics, especially with the emergence of the idea of halal fashion and the increasing popularity of saving among Muslims. The purpose of this research is to examine halal awareness in the context of modest clothing and the problems encountered in the practice of buying and selling used clothing (thrifting). Perceptions, experiences, and meanings of the phenomenon were explored through a qualitative critical study method. The results of the study indicate that although thrifting offers cost-effective and environmentally friendly clothing options, there are several issues related to halal, such as product origin, the possibility of products becoming impure, and transaction transparency. To make thrifting a lifestyle that aligns with Sharia principles while also being a modern trend, education, certification, and strict oversight are needed to address the low level of halal awareness among the public. This research enhances our understanding of how religious values and fashion trends are integrated into the lives of modern Muslims.
