THE EFFECT OF MODERN RETAIL EXISTENCE, WORKING HOURS AND WORKING CAPITAL ON INCREASING LOCAL TRADERS' INCOME IN THE OMBEN SAMPANG TRADITIONAL MARKET

Abstract

The retail business in Indonesia is increasingly attractive leading to fierce competition. Within a very shrt time, retailers, whit their capital, have been able to expand, establishing mnimarketts, supermarkets, and hypermarkets scattered thariety of products they offer. roughout Indonesia their presence is welcomed by the public due to he convenience, completeness, security, ease of use, and and variety of products they offer. However, this has negative consequences for traditional small retaillers, who are insreasingly being marginalized due to several fators sch as limited capital, simple management, and minima proection. They are becoming victims of economic liberalism. Operating hours can attract consumers, thus increasing revenue. Furthermore, capital is also a key driver in running a business. This research isn an ex-post-facto quantitative study using multiple linier regreassion analysis. A sample of 40 traditional retail stores in Omben Market was taken. Based on the results obtained, the presence of modern retail has a positive and significant effect on revenue, while working hours have a positive and significant effect on revenue. Working capital has a positive and significant effect on revenue. All three variables simultaneously affect revenue.
